VPN Apache

Hi! I have created a LAMP droplet and the web server is running properly. Today I followed the instructions to install openVPN, and it works OK. However, my web server becomes not responding.

can anyone help to get both Web server and openVPN on the droplet?

  • I am not sure what issue apache is running into off the top of my head but there are a few pieces of information that will make this easier to troubleshoot...

What method did you use to install openVPN?

Have you tried starting apache from the CLI?

    service apache2 start

If so, is anything being recorded in the Apache error log? (/var/log/apache2/error.log)

I had the same problem to,

The problem is that openvpn "covers" the port 443 (https) and the port 80 (http) so you have to tell him to "uncover" and let other services (apche) use this ports.

So try this:

sudo ufw allow https
sudo sudo ufw allow http

I hope this will solve your problem.
