Connect java app with mysql database

April 23, 2015 2.4k views

I recently created a droplet(Linux with phpmyadmin in it). I'm trying to connect it with a java application but i get an error (Communications link failure) . Can anyone help me? How can i connect my java application with mysql. Should i create a web service or is it possible with an odbc driver?

  • Have you check for host permissions on mysql?

  • I fixed it, thanks for the answer tho. I had to remove a line of code in my.cnf file in the droplet.
Because my-sql by default does not allow external connections.
