Question

Connection between two droplets of different users

My friend has a droplet. I want to connect to that droplet’s public IP from my droplet. It seems that packets between different user’s droplets are getting dropped even if I use the public IP. Is this by design? Can I do anything to access the API hosted on my friend’s droplet? Note: I can ping my friend’s droplet IP from any network, but ping to that IP is failing from my Digitalocean droplet.

Hello, @talkghosh

I’m glad this is sorted. You can always allow new IPs in the Firewall if you need to access the droplet from other servers as well.

For example, if you’re using UFW:

  1. sudo ufw allow from IPaddress

You can check our UFW tutorial here:

Regards, Alex

Sorry. It was just a firewall issue. I allowed IP blocks of a specific country by getting the Geo-IP list from a website. The public IP blocks of Digitalocean were not included in that list. It is resolved now.
