Question

CORS errors on static website in App Platform

I’ve deployed a static website straight from Github using the App Platform, however I do get CORS errors regarding external fonts. I do not see how I can change settings to allow specific external domains.

We recently released support configuring the ingress CORS policy of services and static sites. This feature is currently only available via API/CLI (doctl), but not yet the UI. An example app spec YAML would look something like this:

name: sample-html
static_sites:
- name: site
  github:
    repo: digitalocean/sample-html
    branch: master
  cors:
   allow_origins:
   - exact: https://example.com

You can submit this using doctl with this:

doctl apps create --spec app.yaml

Check out the app specification reference for more on this feature and others that are available in the app spec.

We don’t support configuring a CORS policy for static sites today but will be adding it soon, stay tuned.
