Disk write while site was down

Apache WordPress Arch Linux

My site crashed several times yesterday - including a 6 hour period in the middle of the night. It came back up itself at the end of the period. During that time there was a huge spike on my Disk graph. There was no spike during the other downtime periods and that spike is not a usual occurrence.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

I'm running WP on a 1GB server.

  • You need to check the server logs.. May be due to some faulty plug in, the server is running out of RAM..

Do you have any Swap enabled ??

  • I have swap enabled. I added in a new plugin yesterday which runs fine on another DO WP site on a seperate disk. I did deactivate it this morning but still having issues.

I'm going to check my server logs

  • I have a whole page full of the top error:
