Disks reliability and RAID configuration behind the curtains
I would like to understand if there is an official statement about reliability of disks. My intent is to host a DBMS server and having a mechanism based on transparent disks redundancy is something I would like. In that way I will implement an architecture enough reliable master server with enough reliable slave server where disks offer me good level of confidence that I will not loose my data if two disks die at the same time for a very unlucky coincidence.
I've seen that there are question similar to this from other users, but I cannot understand why it's not officially stated into features of virtual machine hosting. This is an important information that all others could hosters states clearly into theri offer pages.
