FCKEditor 403 Forbidden Error

March 21, 2015 2.1k views

We have run into an issue with a 403 Error on fckeditor.html. File permissions on the file are set to 644 but it is still inaccessible.

Message from Google Dev Tools Console:
/fckeditor/editor/fckeditor.html?InstanceName=editorhtml&Toolbar=Default Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

Debian 7.0 x32 vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-686-pae (3.2.41-2+deb7u2) (148)

  • @betsy If the actual files are squared away (chown & chmod), then the issue is with directory permissions. Have you verified that your directories are allowing read access to Apache, or any other required software/process?

  • I've only verified via FTP that the file permissions are set to 644 on the fckeditor.html file and 755 on the fckeditor directory.

I have not verified that the directories are allowing read access to Apache or any other required software/process. Can you give me some instructions on how to do this or point me to a resource that might help?
