Hello, @claudekamgakamgueu

Can you please clarify if you’re looking to build your own mail server in order to send/receive emails? You can use your domain name and create an email account like contact@yourdomain.com and use it to send or receive emails.

You can check the following tutorials on How To Install and Configure Postfix on Ubuntu 20.04 and How To Install and Configure Postfix as a Send-Only SMTP Server on Ubuntu

Hope that this helps.

Postfix is a popular open-source Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) that can be used to route and deliver email on a Linux system. It is estimated that around 25% of public mail servers on the internet run Postfix. In this guide, you'll learn how to install and configure Postfix on an Ubuntu 20.04 server.

Hi there,

What you could do is to use a control panel like Plesk for example. You could install Plesk on a new Droplet with this 1-Click option here:

https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/plesk

Plesk comes with a full-fledged eMail server included. Manage multiple users and mailboxes per domain. Or offer eMail hosting to your customers. Note: to set up your reverse DNS record required to run an eMail service.

On another note, I could also suggest taking a look at this tutorial here:

Hope that this helps.

When setting up a web site or application under your own domain, it is likely that you will also want a mail server to handle the domain's incoming and outgoing email. While it is possible to run your own mail server, it is often not the best option for a variety of reasons. This guide will cover many of the reasons that you may not want to run your own mail server, and offer a few alternatives.

I will like to use my domain name and create an email account like contact@skip-theline.ca and use it to send or receive emails.

  • Hello, @claudekamgakamgueu

In this case, you can follow the suggestions that I and Bobby shared already.

You can set up a Postfix server on Ubuntu droplet or use the Plesk one-click install app from our Marketplace.
