Gitlab deployment not working

I'm unable to deploy the Gitlab application successfully

I follow the guide to the letter and the gitlab-ctl reconfigure ends up erroring out. Is there any issue now with it?

  • Hi! Could you include the error message with your question? Were you using the one-click image? It's hard to help without knowing more about the problem.

One of the most common issues with GitLab is that it will run out of memory on a 512 MB server, that is why we recommend using at least the 1 GB. Adding a large SWAP file may allow you to use it on a 512 MB server, but the the upstream GitLab team recommends using 2GB of RAM.

Swap space can be used as an "overflow" area for your system when you run out of RAM. The operating system can store data that would normally be kept in RAM on the hard drive in a specially formatted file. In this guide, we'll demonstrate how to create and use one of these files in Ubuntu 14.04.
