How to set global variable defaulttableencryption in mysql managed database?

The MySQL system variables are set depending upon the size of the cluster’s Droplets. You can’t edit them, but you can see what they are with SHOW VARIABLES;.

You could try reaching out to the DigitalOcean support team and cross-check if they could make such a change to the managed cluster for you:


Hi, I have the same issue with a MySQL 8 managed database.

I need to enable LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE. I thought this would be possible through the control panel but the only thing that I can see there that can be tweaked is SQL mode.
From the command, I could run SET GLOBAL local_infile = true; but I don’t have permissions for this.

Is there any other way to achieve this?

  • DO support has confirmed that they cannot enable this variable.
    I’ve just started using DO for databases coming from other cloud providers and didn’t expect it to be so limiting.
