How to show Rails app using nginx + passenger.

November 2, 2014 1k views

I've been trying to get deploy my rails app to my DO VPS. Eventually I've succeeded in doing that, but now I'm having trouble showing my app.

When I visit I get the following message.

An error occurred.

Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable.
Please try again later.

If you are the system administrator of this resource then you should check the error log for details.

Faithfully yours, nginx.

This is a part of the nginx error log

[ 2014-11-02 04:55:37.0211 25717/7f822270d780 agents/Watchdog/Main.cpp:728 ]: All Phusion Passenger agents started!

I've created a question here maybe it can give you a better look.

Greetings Peter Boomsma.

  • Looks like you got it working. It would be great if you share your solution for people that might come across this latter. It sounds like it may have been a folder permissions problem. Was that the case?
