When trying to play an HTML5/mp4 video in Firefox I get "no video with supported format and MIME content found. I installed the ubuntu-restricted-extras and other suggestions found on google search but nothing worked. I installed Chrome but it crashes when I start a video.

  • Go to https://html5test.com/ in your browser and perform the test.

I am going to assume you are trying to play an H.264 MP4 video. Post your results it will help.

  • I created a new droplet with debian.
Plays all formats with browser and clicking on video file.
Yes I was trying to play H.264 MP4. Couldn't get it to play until I chaned to debian.
