Question

mysql keeping crashings on my drupal site

  • Posted March 11, 2014

PDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock’ (111) in lock_may_be_available() (line 167 of /var/www/is373/vector/includes/lock.inc).

I keep on getting this on my drupal site. To fix it temporarily, I have to restart apache2 and then mysql. Getting tired of doing this and getting interrupted.

I am also having the same problem. I am using 512MB Ram 20GB SSD Disk Ubuntu. Is it bcoz I am using this droplet as staging for 3 different drupal sites? FYI, after I restart mysql server it gets fixed and again shows the error maybe after around 5/6 hours. Please help.

Thanks in advance

you better check your mysql log to find out what happens there.

I was having the same problem while running a fresh WordPress install on a 512MB droplet. I had to switch to using Nginx instead of Apache. As i see it the options you will hear others recommend are, 1. use a larger droplet 2. install a swap disk or 3. migrate to Nginx. <br> <br>BTW… i haven’t tested with Nginx and Drupal as yet.
