OpenVPN New Installation. Web Admin Login Problems + Logo missing.

December 30, 2014 1.1k views

I just installed OpenVPN on my droplet Ubutu 14.04
Followed this guide https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-openvpn-access-server-on-ubuntu-12-04

Changed the instructions for Ubuntu 14.04 as follows

sudo wget http://swupdate.openvpn.org/as/openvpn-as-2.0.11-Ubuntu14.amd_64.deb
dpkg -i openvpn-as-2.0.11-Ubuntu14.amd_64.deb

I also changed the password. I login without problems and I see the terms and conditions page. I click next and I see the login page again. What's also weird is that the logo is missing everywhere, and the admin is badly formatted as well as if some items are missing. The client login page's form is missing as well.

Did I download the wrong package?

  • Simply running:

    sudo wget http://swupdate.openvpn.org/as/openvpn-as-2.0.11-Ubuntu14.amd_64.deb
    dpkg -i openvpn-as-2.0.11-Ubuntu14.amd_64.deb
    sudo passwd openvpn

I was able to successfully set up OpenVPN AS. Is there any more information you could provide? Was this on a fresh server or were there already other service running on it? Is there anything in the log file that might be helpful? View it using less /var/log/openvpnas.log
