Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?) with CLOUDINARY API call

DigitalOcean PHP Security CentOS

We have a CentOS 6 server droplet running PHP 5.3.3 w/ MySQL.

We cannot seem to get this server to communicate with's API - an image upload/manipulation site.

We try the simplest call from the code like:

***$arryReturnedFromUploadToCloudinary = \Cloudinary\Uploader::upload( $permStoragePathAndName );

We're running cloud.php - which calls the API, off my www root, and we get this error: (note that cloud.php is a simple php script that calls DecalToCloudinary.php; DecalToCloudinary.php has the API calls to Cloudinary\Uploader:: etc...)

Thanks for the help
