Urgent - Problem with permissions??

Apache WordPress

Hi... I was fixing problems with Wordpress files and folders permissions and I must have done something wrong. After making the changes, I rebooted the server, and I now get an Internal Error when trying to access the ispconfig3 panel or just load my websites (www.frenos.cc, www.frenospanama.com). My email services are still up, ad if I restore the latest backup, I will loose one full week of emails.... What can you do to help me out? I still have FTP access to Root...

The command used were:
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/frenos.cc
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/frenospanama.com
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/museodelalibertad.org
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/crdpanama.com

Please advise.

  • Check your apache/php logs and see what's causing the error. From there you should be able to figure out what you need to do to fix it.

If they were working fine before you changed the user, I'd guess that you have changed the user or user group to something other than the default and so now the server doesn't have permission to serve the pages.
