WordPress Uploads Images successful, but does not display thumbs.

December 19, 2014 1.6k views

Hello,

I've installed WordPress on a Ubuntu 14.10 droplet with LEMP and I would like to ask for some help with a recent problem.

When I upload a brand new image via the Media Library I can see the image and all thumbnails being generated in the uploads folder with ls -la and I get no errors via WordPress, but when I try to view the article in the browser the image/thumb just won't show up even if I enter the direct URL to the image I get a 404 error.

What could the problem be?

Here a screenshot from a test page -> http://104.236.151.176/testing-images/

I've set permission 0777 to uploads and all sub folder just to try and resolve this issue but still nothing.

  • do you have a domain associated with the site? or are you just using the droplets IP address?

  • I fixed this issue, but I am not quite sure how :) I simply deleted the droplet and created a new one with LEMP from the applications tab and then I reinstalled WordPress.
