]]>I wanted a bit of clarification on what network speed my Droplets should be getting.
I’m using Basic Premium AMD droplets which as I understand are not CPU-optimised, they’re just newer-class CPUs.
This doc page says that all droplets are limited to 2Gbps maximum but CPU-optimised droplets with premium CPUs get 10Gbps.
Yet one of my droplets is downloading a 1GB file in 1 second, average 850-900MB/s which translates to around 7Gbps.
I tested on a VM I have with another provider who list their speed as 400Mbps. The same 1GB file downloads at 47-48MB/s which calculates to around 385Mbps, so I’m confident my calculations are correct.
So my question really is, is my Basic Premium droplet CPU-optimised and getting 10Gbps, or am I getting something I shouldn’t be?

Sorry as I’m rather new to this. Is something pointing in the wrong direction in a config file perhaps?

]]>I’m new to digital ocean and am using this with P4 for a project. I have never seen this anywhere else and have used p4 for years now. My project in Unreal keeps getting hung up for 5-10 seconds when doing certain operations. For example, if I ctrl z in a blueprint - it freezes. If I play in the editor it freezes, when I stop playing in the editor it freezes, and so on. I have dupped this project and tried without it connected to source control and it works perfectly. I have tried other larger projects and it works perfectly. It’s odd that it’s doing this because all that stuff should be local and not done through the cloud. like saving a file that’s already checked out, or simply playing in the editor. So I’m lost on what to do.
]]>Digital Ocean just locked my account right after signup. I always use a VPN when online and I ALWAYS use Privacy.com cards online. Is this why they locked my account?
The $5 authorization from Digital Ocean hit my Privacy.com card and then when I tried to login from my cell phone it said, “Your account has been locked.” No explanation, no suggested steps to take, nothing.
Does anyone know if they are having some sort of system malfunction, or is this sort of thing usual for Digital Ocean? I came here because DO was recommended many times in the Discourse forums as a good place to host a new Discourse server.

The reason why I created the non-root user was to establish a firewall connection that only allowed two specific types of connection to the Droplet as detailed herehttps://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/initial-server-setup-with-ubuntu-20-04\
Thanks

]]>“If you’ve seen my previous talks, you’ve heard me say that if you’re building something for someone else, you’re making design decisions. Whether you’re aware of it or not. There’s another layer of complexity: when you’re building a product or providing a service, there’s a journey that your customer follows before and after interacting with your product. Are you aware of that journey?
These journeys are full of touch-points that you may or may not be able to influence. If you have the ability to influence them, do! They’re part of your customers’ experience. If you can’t, at least you should be aware of them so that your product or service lives in harmony with the “ecosystem” around it.
In this talk, I will guide you through the benefits of understanding and minding your customers’ journey, ways of plotting it efficiently, and some tactical points on how to be effective at creating more well-rounded experiences for your customers.”
