Ben Uretsky

Ben Uretsky

Co-Founder and CEO

Ben drives DigitalOcean's vision, strategy, and growth, providing developers with a simple and robust cloud infrastructure experience. His leadership has guided DigitalOcean's rise from a cloud startup for developers to the second largest and fastest growing cloud computing platform, according to Netcraft.com. To date, more than 700,000 developers have deployed more than 20 million cloud servers, and the company has expanded its worldwide infrastructure footprint with multiple datacenter locations around the globe. The company has raised $123 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Access Industries, IA Ventures, CrunchFund, and Techstars.

Ben has more than 15 years experience in network engineering and the infrastructure space. Prior to DigitalOcean, he co-founded and built a managed hosting provider that supported some of the top websites online and generated million-dollar annual revenues. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Pace University.

Moisey Uretsky

Moisey is responsible for driving DigitalOcean's product vision. Throughout his life as an entrepreneur, he has worn many hats and has a vast knowledge in various facets of business including new business incubation, venture investing activities, network engineering, technical support, project management, and business development. Before founding ServerStack and DigitalOcean, he studied Mathematics at NYU and launched CorreGroup, a big data startup that provided valuable analytics to billion-dollar hedge fund firms in New York City.

Mitch Wainer

Mitch is responsible for driving DigitalOcean's brand vision and customer growth. An entrepreneur from an early age, he has more than 17 years of experience in web development and digital marketing. Prior to co-founding DigitalOcean, he was the Director of Digital Marketing and Branding for a San Francisco–based ad agency where he developed emerging go-to-market strategies for Fortune 100 clients. He has spoken globally on the topics of cloud technology, entrepreneurship, and marketing at conferences like The Next Web and Surge and received numerous distinctions such as the Direct Marketing News 40 under 40. He advises several startups, such as financial news sentiment analysis company, Accern, and serves as an advisor for Flybridge Capital Partners. He has earned a B.A. from Northeastern University in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

Karl Alomar

COO

Karl is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in developing high growth businesses. He is responsible for driving the day-to-day business and people operations, and manages DigitalOcean's international footprint—along with all procurement and global operations activities—as the company continues to build out its hardware and datacenter infrastructure internationally. Prior to DigitalOcean, he was the co-founder and senior partner of China Export Finance, Ltd, where he helped the business to grow from inception to more than $125M of annual revenue within four years. He received his MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and a Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London.

Greg Warden

Greg Warden

VP of Engineering

Greg leads DigitalOcean's highly-distributed engineering teams, building scalable, reliable infrastructure and easy-to-use applications and APIs. He believes deeply in building products that give small teams great power, and is always looking for opportunities to challenge the status quo. Prior to DigitalOcean, he led the platform and infrastructure teams at Atlassian and held numerous leadership roles at PayPal, Thomson Reuters, EnvoyWorldWide (acquired by Par3 Communications), and PureSpeech (acquired by Voice Control Systems). He studied Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees.

Pete Webb

Pete Webb

VP of Infrastructure

Pete leads DigitalOcean's Infrastructure Operations teams, including Network Engineering, Platform Operations, and CloudOps. He is responsible for driving the key infrastructure tenants of performance, reliability, and economics as DigitalOcean scales to meet the evolving demands of its customers. Prior to DigitalOcean, he held the position of VP of Global Production Operations/IT at Groupon. At Groupon, he introduced formal incident management, and drove initiatives focusing on infrastructure consolidation and geo redundancy. He has held various other technical operations management roles in Valley tech notables such as Flipboard, Ning(Mode), and Zinio. He studied Economics and Computer Science at York University, and has spent nearly 25 years working in the tech industry.

Matt Hoffman

VP of People

Matt is responsible for leadership in the practice areas of talent acquisition, talent development, people operations, and employee experience. Prior to DigitalOcean, he was the Senior Director of People Operations at Return Path, a global leader in email solutions which was named the #2 Best Place to Work in the US by Fortune Magazine. He has held a number of HR and people leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies including JPMorgan Chase and Avon, serves on the advisory board of several early stage startups, and is a founding member and the NY lead of PeopleTech Partners. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his graduate degree in Organizational Psychology from NYU.

Tom Berger

VP of Marketing

Tom leads the Marketing teams at DigitalOcean including Brand, Demand Generation, Global Communications, Community and Product Marketing. He is responsible for driving customer acquisition efforts across all channels and building a brand and community that developers love. Prior to DigitalOcean, He held the position of VP of Digital Marketing at Progress Software where he was responsible for unifying the digital experience for customers to drive growth across all business units. He has held marketing leadership roles at Iron Mountain, SafeNet, and Ciena. He holds a B.F.A from Carnegie Mellon University.

Rafael Mojica

Rafael Mojica

VP of User Experience

Rafael leads the User Experience teams at DigitalOcean with a career of 10+ years in the User Experience Design field. Prior to DigitalOcean, he was part of the leadership team at Transfix, an on-demand freight logistics market place in New York City. He has held different positions in companies like Zappos, where he led the efforts to redesign the company's inventory management systems; Gilt Groupe and, 1stdibs, where he managed the design process to transition the company into an e-commerce platform. He enjoys dealing with complex procedures, information architecture and diagramming everything that crosses his path. After earning a BA in Mexico, he moved to the US to pursue an MFA in Industrial Design.

Shiven joined DigitalOcean in March 2017 to drive the product vision and growth. He firmly believes that developers are not just our customers, but they are innovators, extenders, and distributors. He is excited and humbled by the challenge of innovating at the intersection of product, design, and technology to empower developers to solve problems and scale their impact.

In addition to overseeing the strategy and execution of DigitalOcean's products, he is also responsible for developer relations and partnerships, a key component to nurturing the connection back to our developer community. His background includes extensive experience across a variety of disciplines, including product management, marketing, analytics, data science, and engineering. Before DigitalOcean, he has held product executive roles at Amazon, LiveIntent, Comcast/NBCU, and Nielsen. He received his undergraduate degree from Eckerd College in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Shiven Ramji

Alan Shapiro

General Counsel

Alan is responsible for all legal and compliance matters across DigitalOcean, including corporate transactions and governance, commercial agreements, intellectual property and data protection, international compliance and litigation.

Prior to DigitalOcean, he served for nine years as the General Counsel of Everyday Health, a leading provider of digital health solutions, and guided the company's IPO and subsequent sale in 2016. He previously served as the General Counsel of Jupiter Media Metrix, a publicly-traded digital measurement firm, and NetRatings, a publicly-traded digital measurement and market research company operating across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America. He also served as an associate at several international law firms. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from Columbia University and a law degree from the UCLA School of Law.
