Ben Uretsky

Ben Uretsky

Co-Founder and CEO

Ben drives DigitalOcean's vision, strategy, and growth, providing developers with a simple and robust cloud infrastructure experience. His leadership has guided DigitalOcean's rise from a cloud startup for developers to the second largest and fastest growing cloud computing platform, according to Netcraft.com. To date, more than 700,000 developers have deployed more than 20 million cloud servers, and the company has expanded its worldwide infrastructure footprint with multiple datacenter locations around the globe. The company has raised $123 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Access Industries, IA Ventures, CrunchFund, and Techstars.

Ben has more than 15 years experience in network engineering and the infrastructure space. Prior to DigitalOcean, he co-founded and built a managed hosting provider that supported some of the top websites online and generated million-dollar annual revenues. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Pace University.

Julia Austin

Julia Austin

CTO

Julia is responsible for ensuring that DigitalOcean continues to scale and innovate its products and services. She has had an extensive career successfully leading large organizations in technical positions and serves as a board member, advisor, and angel investor to early stage companies. Prior to DigitalOcean, she enjoyed an eight-year tenure at VMware where she managed the expansion of the engineering organization—from launching its first non-CA-based engineering site in Cambridge, MA, to leading all of VMware's Global R&D initiatives, and eventually serving as Vice President of Innovation at VMware. Prior to VMware, she was the VP of Engineering at Akamai, and she has held technical management and consulting positions at several other startups and enterprise companies. Currently, she is a faculty member at Harvard Business School's Entrepreneurial Management Unit where she teaches Product Management to second-year MBA students, she serves as a trustee for the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA, and she's an active volunteer for both BUILD and Year Up in Boston. She received her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and she is also a graduate of Boston University's School of Business, where she received her M.S. in Management Information Systems.

Moisey Uretsky

Moisey is responsible for driving DigitalOcean's product vision. Throughout his life as an entrepreneur, he has worn many hats and has a vast knowledge in various facets of business including new business incubation, venture investing activities, network engineering, technical support, project management, and business development. Before founding ServerStack and DigitalOcean, he studied Mathematics at NYU and launched CorreGroup, a big data startup that provided valuable analytics to billion-dollar hedge fund firms in New York City.

Karl Alomar

Karl is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in developing high growth businesses. He is responsible for driving the day-to-day business and people operations, and manages DigitalOcean's international footprint—along with all procurement and global operations activities—as the company continues to build out its hardware and datacenter infrastructure internationally. Prior to DigitalOcean, he was the co-founder and senior partner of China Export Finance, Ltd, where he helped the business to grow from inception to more than $125M of annual revenue within four years. He received his MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and a Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London.

Brian Cohen

Brian Cohen

CFO

Brian has more than 25 years experience as a CFO for both public and private companies. He has helped build rapidly growing software, mobile advertising, security, networking, and hardware technology companies with significant experience in international operations, venture capital financing, and mergers and acquisitions. As the company continues its trajectory, he plays a crucial role in managing DigitalOcean's explosive growth. His career started with PricewaterhouseCoopers, during which time he earned his CPA certification. His responsibilities included financial operations, business planning, real estate and facilities, IT, people operations, legal, risk management, operations, and investor relations. He received his Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business from the State University of New York at Oswego.

Matt Hoffman

VP of People

Matt is responsible for leadership in the practice areas of talent acquisition, talent development, people operations, and employee experience. Prior to DigitalOcean, he was the Senior Director of People Operations at Return Path, a global leader in email solutions and that was named the #2 Best Place to Work in the US by Fortune Magazine. He has also held a number of HR and people leadership roles at several Fortune 500 companies. He received his Bachelor's degree from Cornell University and his Master's degree from NYU.

Emmanuelle Skala

VP of Sales and Customer Success

Emmanuelle is responsible for customer acquisition and growth. Prior to DigitalOcean, she led sales at Influitive where she scaled the business tenfold in 2 years. She also served as the VP of Global Channel Sales at Sophos, where she won the CRN Channel Chief award for two years in a row. She is also a recipient of CRN's Top 100 Women in the Channel. She was the first hired salesperson at two B2B software startups, Endeca and Vertica, and she saw both through rapid growth and successful acquisitions by Oracle and HP respectively. She advises several startups and serves as an executive-in-residence for Argosight. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA. in Marketing and Finance from New York University's School of Business.
