Description

Creates a new project in your account.

Projects allow you to organize your DigitalOcean resources (like Droplets, Spaces, load balancers, domains, and floating IPs) into groups that fit the way you work. You can create projects that align with the applications, environments, and clients that you host on DigitalOcean.

Example

The following example creates a project named Example Project with the purpose “Frontend development”:

doctl projects create --name "Example Project" --purpose "Frontend development"

Flags

--description A description of the project
--environment The environment in which your project resides. Possible values: Development, Staging, or Production
--format Columns for output in a comma-separated list. Possible values: ID, OwnerUUID, OwnerID, Name, Description, Purpose, Environment, IsDefault, CreatedAt, UpdatedAt.
--help , -h Help for this command
--name The project’s name (required)
--no-header Return raw data with no headers
Default: false
--purpose The project’s purpose (required)
