When you create a cluster, it is configured with a database (
defaultdb) and an administrative user (
doadmin). While you can use them as the main database and user, you may have more than one database you’d like to run on your cluster or would prefer to limit the access or permission available to an application. New users will receive the permissions of the
doadmin user by default. These cannot be changed from the control panel, but you can manage them using third-party tools.
To add users and databases, click the name of the database, then select the Users & Databases tab. From here you can also reset user passwords.
Because they are integral to cluster replication and administration, you cannot delete the default user and database.
