The Preview Offering is a Beta Service for purposes of the Agreement, and terms not defined in these Preview Terms have such meaning otherwise defined in the Agreement. If there is a conflict between these Preview Terms and the Agreement, these Preview Terms will control solely with respect to the conflict relating to your use of the Preview Offering.

Subprocessor Disclosure: DigitalOcean uses OpenAI (Located in the United States) as a subprocessor to support delivery of the Preview Offering service. A current list of other DigitalOcean Service subprocessors is available here.**

Your participation in the public preview and use of the preview offering is voluntary. If you do not accept these Preview Terms then you may not participate in the public preview.__

1. Scope & Service Status

This Preview Offering is a configuration monitoring and visibility tool designed to identify potential security misconfigurations within Customer’s cloud environment based on industry-standard frameworks. It is a limited-availability release designed for testing and feedback. It is not a General Availability (GA) product. DigitalOcean is granting Customer access to a “Public Preview” of the CSPM service to obtain feedback on features. Customer acknowledges that the Service is experimental and has not been commercially released. Participating in the Preview Offering gives you the opportunity to test, validate, and provide feedback on a preliminary release of the Preview Offering as part of our roll-out strategy. While we expect that the Preview Offering will perform for some production-level workloads, as set forth in the Agreement, and without limiting any disclaimers in the Agreement, you acknowledge that:

(a) As a Beta Service the Preview Offering may not meet the same reliability, performance, or security standards as generally available Services, and may not be appropriate for all production workloads.

(b) You are solely responsible for determining whether and how to use the Preview Offering, and that you should test and validate it in your environment before relying on it for any production workloads.

( c ) We recommend that you initially use simulated test data with the Preview Offering and not include personally identifying, confidential, regulated, or high-risk information. You remain responsible for configuring and using the Services appropriately and for taking your own steps to maintain appropriate security, protection, and backup of your data.

(d) Support for the Preview Offering is available through our standard support channels, subject to any limits described in the documentation for the preview offering, and we may prioritize support for generally available Services over support for the Preview Offering. We may track and measure the performance and usage of the Preview Offering. However, no Service Level Agreements, including service credits and other remedies, apply to the Preview Offering unless we expressly state otherwise in Section 2 of these Preview Terms.

2. Customers Acknowledges:

  • Visibility Only: The Preview Offering is a detection and reporting tool only. It does not prevent security breaches, unauthorized access, or cyberattacks.

  • Non-Exhaustive: The findings generated by the Preview Offering are based on pre-defined rules and will not identify all possible security risks, vulnerabilities, or compliance gaps in Customer’s environment.

  • Accuracy: AI-generated suggestions may be incomplete, inaccurate, or contain “hallucinations.”

  • Mandatory Human Review: Customer must ensure a qualified human professional reviews and validates Preview Offering findings, including the accuracy and severity of any misconfigurations identified by CSPM, any AI-suggested code, configuration changes, or policy updates before implementation.

  • Customer Responsibility: Customer is solely responsible for (i) reviewing the Preview Offering findings, (ii) determining the appropriateness of any remediation guidance provided, and (iii) the timely implementation of any fixes. DigitalOcean is not liable for any damages resulting from Customer’s failure to act on a Preview Offering finding.

  • Data Handling and Feedback. Telemetry: DigitalOcean will collect new telemetry on scan results and remediation behaviors to improve the Preview Offering.

  • Coverage Policy. Customer is responsible for managing their coverage policy. DigitalOcean provides a live cost preview and does not auto-enroll newly discovered workloads by default to ensure the Customer maintains full control over their security spend.

3. Pricing & Billing

Access to the Public Preview is available under a Free plan and one or more paid plans, which may include Basic, Standard, and Enterprise.

The Free plan is provided at no charge.

If Customer elects to use a paid plan during the Public Preview, the following pricing applies applies (as applicable):

  • Basic: $5 per month per billable workload
  • Standard: $10 per month per billable workload (if made available during the Public Preview)
  • Enterprise: $20 per month per billable workload (if made available during the Public Preview)

For purposes of the Public Preview, a billable workload means a DigitalOcean Droplet that is within the Service’s scanning scope. DigitalOcean may expand billable workloads to include additional DigitalOcean services over time as the Service evolves. Any such expansion, and any associated charges, will be disclosed in advance to Customer in the Control Panel and/or applicable documentation.

DigitalOcean will offer the Basic paid plan and may make additional paid plans (beyond Basic) available during the Public Preview. If DigitalOcean introduces additional plans (such as Standard or Enterprise), DigitalOcean will also publish the applicable pricing and plan details in the Control Panel and/or associated documentation. Customer will only be charged for an additional plan if Customer elects to enable or upgrade to that plan. Charges will be based on the paid plan selected by the customer at the time charges are incurred.

All fees (if any) will be billed through Customer’s existing DigitalOcean account billing relationship and are subject to applicable taxes.
