Introducing New 48vCPU and 60vCPU Optimized Premium Droplets on DigitalOcean

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new 48vCPU Memory and Storage Optimized Premium Droplets and 60vCPU General Purpose and CPU Optimized Premium Droplets.

Droplets are DigitalOcean’s Linux-based virtual machines. Our Premium Optimized Droplets are Dedicated CPU instances, providing access to the full hyperthread at all times, which ensures consistently superior performance. They also include 10 Gbps outbound data transfer, making them ideal for bandwidth-intensive use cases such as streaming and gaming, along with consistently fast NVMe storage.

These new Droplet sizes empower you to run larger, more complex applications without sacrificing performance or efficiency. If your applications are reaching the limits of CPU, Memory or storage on our previous largest plans, resize your droplets to continue scaling your workload.

Ideal for a variety of cloud native websites and applications, including SaaS applications, high-traffic web servers, digital storefronts, e-commerce marketplaces, consumer tech, and more.
• 60vCPU CPU Optimized Premium Droplets: Designed for high throughput and consistent performance, and ideal for network and computing-intensive workloads such as streaming media, online gaming, machine learning, and data analytics.
• 48vCPU Memory Optimized Premium Droplets: Optimized for memory-intensive applications, like high-performance SQL or NoSQL databases, large in-memory caches and indexes, real-time big data processing, and applications with large JVM requirements.
• 48vCPU Storage Optimized Premium Droplets: Optimized for data-heavy applications, such as databases, data warehouses, and analytics applications. This configuration provides up to 384 GB of RAM and up to 7TB of storage.
