Growing businesses increasingly rely on multiple cloud providers and on-premise infrastructure to scale their applications. However, connecting different cloud environments securely and efficiently is a major headache. Many businesses struggle with unpredictable latency and complex VPN setups to keep their distributed workloads running smoothly. Without a seamless solution, managing cloud connectivity becomes a costly and time-consuming burden.

At DigitalOcean, we’re committed to helping to eliminate these challenges by making cloud networking simpler, more scalable, and more accessible. Today, we’re excited to introduce the general availability of DigitalOcean Partner Network Connect, a cross-cloud connectivity solution that enables more secure, high-performance networking between DigitalOcean and other cloud providers or on-premise data centers.

With Partner Network Connect, growing businesses can establish direct, private connections between DigitalOcean and other cloud providers or on-premise data centers or co-location facilities—bypassing the public internet to help improve security, minimize latency, and increase network performance. By integrating with Megaport, a leading Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) provider, we’re helping our customers connect their distributed workloads across multiple clouds easily, reliably, and affordably.

Why DigitalOcean Partner Network Connect?

As businesses scale, they often deploy workloads across multiple cloud providers or maintain hybrid cloud environments. Until now, cloud customers had to rely on VPNs or self-managed solutions to connect these environments, which can be complex to set up, costly, and difficult to maintain. DigitalOcean Partner Network Connect helps eliminate these challenges for cloud-to-cloud and on-premise connectivity.

Key benefits include:

  • Improved latency: Low latency, high-bandwidth private connectivity (1 Gbps to 10 Gbps) for faster, more reliable performance across cloud and on-premise environments.

  • Enhanced security: Private connections help keep sensitive data off the public internet, providing added security for critical workloads.

  • Cost optimization: Minimize data transfer costs by avoiding egress charges and optimizing cross-cloud networking.

  • Simplified management: No separate review process for throughput reservation. Simply reserve your needed throughput from the DigitalOcean Networking console and complete the connectivity with Megaport.

Real-world use cases of Partner Network Connect

  • FinTech and Healthcare companies handling sensitive data: Organizations in regulated industries can help enhance security by keeping financial transactions and patient records off the public internet.

  • AdTech and MarTech companies looking to enhance content delivery, data-driven personalization, and real-time ad bidding using multi-cloud connectivity.

  • SaaS providers managing multi-cloud deployments: Software companies deploying applications across cloud providers can simplify cross-cloud networking, reducing operational complexity.

  • Online businesses, like global e-learning platforms, that serve students and educators across various regions, require the ability to deliver data to multiple geographic locations while maintaining unified user experience.

Getting started with DigitalOcean Partner Network Connect

Setting up Partner Network Connect is simple. In the DigitalOcean Networking console, just:

  1. Navigate to Networking → → Multi-Cloud Integrations

  2. Click Create Partner Attachment

  3. Choose your region, VPC Networks, bandwidth plan, and route settings.

  4. Generate a unique key to activate the connection with your NaaS provider

  5. Follow the setup steps on Megaport to complete the connectivity on both the ends and start using your private, high-speed connection.

Partner Network Connect is available in all DigitalOcean regions except SYD1, LON1, BLR1 and TOR1 and can be accessed via the UI and API.

Simple, transparent pricing with no surprises

DigitalOcean offers simple, predictable pricing for Partner Network Connect.

We offer all-in pricing with no charges on the egress data transfer. You pay for the throughput you reserve per month.

Throughput reserved per month Pricing per month
1 Gbps $840
2 Gbps $1540
5 Gbps $2520
10 Gbps $3850

Connect your multi-cloud workloads today

DigitalOcean Partner Network Connect empowers businesses to seamlessly link their multi-cloud and hybrid environments while helping provide better performance, security, and cost control. Whether you’re migrating workloads, scaling applications, or building a hybrid cloud, DigitalOcean Partner Network Connect simplifies cross-cloud networking so you can focus on what matters most—growing your business.

More good news: Network Load Balancer is now generally available

Our new Network Load Balancer is also now generally available to help growing businesses handle high-traffic volumes with improved efficiency and resilience. Operating at the transport layer (Layer 4), it offers ultra-low latency, higher throughput, and unmetered connections, making it ideal for real-time workloads like gaming, streaming, and chat applications. With scalable volume management and automatic failover, it helps your application stay responsive, even during traffic surges.
