    Accepted Answer: Definitely not best practice, but in an effort to get things working, I gave up on trying to change the root and just moved everything to the /usr/share/nginx/html path.

    Accepted Answer: Turns out I needed to add a server block to nginx.conf and not just sites-available: server { listen 80; server_name MYDOMAIN; } Running the process after that worked!
