This Privacy Policy (the “Preview Policy”) explains how the DigitalOcean Cuttlefish mobile application for iOS (the “App”) collects, uses, shares, and stores information during its Public Preview. It supplements the DigitalOcean Privacy Policy (the “DO Privacy Policy”). The DO Privacy Policy continues to apply to your DigitalOcean account and to topics this Preview Policy does not address. If there is a conflict between this Preview Policy and the DO Privacy Policy, this Preview Policy controls solely with respect to the App.
When you use the App, we collect:
Sign-in information. You sign in on DigitalOcean’s sign-in page. The App receives a sign-in token. It does not see your password.
Your content. Prompts, messages, instructions, approvals, and agent session activity.
Files and photos you choose to upload.
Environment settings and secrets. Secrets are sent to DigitalOcean’s secrets store. They are not shown again and are not kept on your device.
A device identifier. An identifier iOS assigns to DigitalOcean apps on your device. If iOS hasn’t assigned one yet, the App uses a temporary random identifier.
Technical data. IP address, request logs, and error information our servers receive when the App connects.
If you use dictation, it is processed on your device. Audio is not sent to DigitalOcean.
Face ID is handled by iOS. We do not receive biometric data.
We use information collected through the App to provide the App and your DigitalOcean services, deliver session updates, provide support, keep our services secure and prevent misuse, operate and improve our services, and comply with legal obligations. The App does not show ads, does not use third-party analytics, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not sell information collected through the App.
The App asks for your permission before sharing your content as follows:
AI models. Your content is sent only to the AI model set for your environment. A default model is preselected, which you can change, including to a different provider, before creating the environment. Depending on the model, your content is processed by DigitalOcean or by the model’s provider under that provider’s terms.
Tools you connect. Agents may send content to tools you or your team connect, such as Slack or Jira.
Subprocessors whom we share information from the App with are required by contract to protect it with the same or equal protection described in this Preview Policy. A list of our Subprocessors is available at https://www.digitalocean.com/trust/subprocessors.
The following information is stored on your device.
Sign-in token. Stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and not synced to iCloud.
Recent session transcripts and lists. Cached so the App loads faster. Not included in device backups.
Temporary copies of files you upload or download.
App preferences, such as pinned sessions.
Information on your device:
Signing out deletes your sign-in token (and revokes it on our servers), cached transcripts and lists, and pinned sessions.
Temporary file copies are deleted after use.
Deleting the App removes remaining App data from your device.
Information on DigitalOcean servers. Information you send through the App, including session replay data and device identifier records, becomes part of your DigitalOcean account. It is kept according to the retention practices for the underlying DigitalOcean service, as described in the DO Privacy Policy and your agreement with DigitalOcean.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. The DO Privacy Policy explains these rights and how to exercise them, or you can email privacy@digitalocean.com.
If you use the App as a member of a team, the team’s account owner controls the content in that account. DigitalOcean processes that content on the owner’s behalf under our agreement with them, including the Data Processing Agreement where applicable. We may refer requests about that content to the account owner.
The App is not intended for children. Children under the age of 13 are prohibited from using the App.
We may update this Preview Policy during the Public Preview by posting the updated version and changing the “Last Updated” date. If a change is material, we will notify you through the App, by email, or by other reasonable means before it takes effect. If the App transitions from Public Preview to General Availability, we may incorporate the information in this Preview Policy into the DO Privacy Policy and retire this Preview Policy. If we do, we will post a notice on this page and notify you through the App, by email, or by other reasonable means before the change takes effect. After that, the DO Privacy Policy will govern the App.
