its best to split the website on the bases of applications, like mysql (DB) in 1 bigger droplet, 1 small proxy machine and 2 web server (nginx/apache) and if possible use local memcache servers to reduce network latency from mysql servers (digital ocean doesn’t provides local IPs) so better to have security established. I have tested network latency between to amsterdam servers and found it to be .012s.

This way you can scale or tune which ever component is suffering.

Can’t share my personal stats, but this works well for me so far :)

I say you use two droplets. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket ;)

xchaotic: It is not a business that is running on it. So that hard can’t it be. I was wandering what is better… :)
