I connected my git repo to the App Platform and successfully was able to get my website running with the (example) www.testapp.com however I need to add an A name record for the apex domain such as (example) testapp.com. I am unable to add an A record since I don’t have a droplet or a load balancer. How can I add an A record in this case?

Maybe use the CName record instead with your DNS provider, like google domains and then create that CName record in DO’s app platform with a costume domain. Add the alias DO provides to your DNS providers CName record in the data part of the domain and then save. In a bit the CName will work like it did with mine.
