Hey!

Absolutely, you have a couple of great options for increasing the disk space available to your Droplet depending on your needs:

  1. Upgrade Your Droplet: If you need more disk space along with potentially increased CPU and RAM, you can consider resizing your Droplet to a larger plan. This can be done directly from your DigitalOcean dashboard. Just go to the Droplets section, select the droplet you want to upgrade, and choose “Resize” from the droplet’s menu. Keep in mind that this will require a reboot of your Droplet, so you’ll want to plan for a brief downtime.

  2. Add Block Storage: If you’re primarily interested in adding more storage without altering your current Droplet’s CPU or RAM, DigitalOcean’s Block Storage is an excellent choice. You can attach additional SSD-based storage to your droplet, which can be resized or moved between droplets within the same region. This is especially useful if you need flexible storage that can grow with your needs without impacting your droplet’s other resources.

Here’s how to add Block Storage:

  • Go to the “Volumes” section in your DigitalOcean dashboard.
  • Click “Create Volume” and choose the size and region that matches your droplet.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to attach the volume to your droplet. You can format and mount the volume as needed for your applications.

Both options are quite robust and can be tailored to fit exactly what you’re looking for, whether it’s more general resources or just additional storage space.

Hope that helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

depends on how much more disk you need. just get a new $5 or $10 droplet and you will get 20G/30G, which is still relatively cheaper than just renting disks from other cloud hosting companies. Then mount them to your more powerful machine!

Something new on this issue? I see, there isn’t an option yet, but is something in planning? Additional disk space without upgrading the whole machine would be very helpful. Thx
