I’m really interested in a yearly payment option. Any update?

For me, it’s not important the discount but the yearly payment option.

I’m also interested in a yearly payment option. Our purchasing department refuses to let us purchase things that require monthly payments.

Has this been updated any? :)

Thanks Necmettin =]

@raiyu, now that’s the correct way of doing things. The simpler, the better. Creating fork points for every possible option is the biggest problem with Amazon. Keep up the good work guys.

We aren’t going to go the route of reserved or non-reserved instances because we want to keep our pricing as straight forward and simple as possible.

With Amazon their pricing page is literally like 20 pages long if you print it out, we don’t want to head in that route, because we want to provide the best price possible to all of our customers without them needing to breakout calculators and spreadsheets to figure out how much their bill will be at the end of the month.

EC2 has reserved instances. Something like that would be cool.

Agreed! Some way of discounting will always help for the folks who wants to be on DO with a longer commitment. I guess its good for DO too :)

We’ve had a couple of users ask about this we haven’t really dived into it yet.

We may offer a way to pre-pay for a year and receive a discount, but because we are a compute platform and you can spin up and destroy virtual servers whenever you want, the discounting would need to be calculated differently.
