apache vs. nginx for a game?

Posted on February 8, 2013

If we are going to run a web-based game with a lot of dynamic content plus videos (but not a full motion game like Halo), is Apache better that Nginx for this purpose?

In our opinion Nginx is always better than Apache :) However for dynamic content and rewrite rules Apache can be a lot easier to setup and run. This is a great setup on how to run both to gain Nginx’s performance and stability, while retaining Apache’s easy to setup server for dynamic content processing and rewrite rules.

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-configure-nginx-as-a-front-end-proxy-for-apache

Nginx + Varnish, definitely

OK - thanks for the guidance.
