Hi Andrew first thanks for your quick response so what i’m basically trying to do is attach a domain name for the staging site and attach a regular domain name to my droplet like this:
I know how to redirect each domain name to the appropriate website on my nginx server (on my droplet) but I dont know how to attach these 2 different domain names to the same droplet Since I couldnt find any way to directly upload an image I uploaded it here: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=zss5xk&s=8#.U-ECvR8cj0o
It’s weird that I have this gsuperlists-staging.tk as a subdomain gsuperlists.tk - I actually have no idea how that happened what I really want to do is be able to view the staging website using gsuperlists-staging.tk and view the actual website using gsuperlists.tk
could you explain or post a link to where I can find out how to do this?
sorry for confused questions but it’s the first time i’m actually dealing with these things
thanks Gideon
If you can post the screenshot, then we might have a better idea of the problem you facing. I’ve personally registered .tk domains in the DigitalOcean control panel. So I know it’s possible.
The first thing that jumps out at me is that you’re talking about two different domains. Are you trying to set them up together? You need to configure each domain separately. In fact, I now see that you seem to have set up gsuperlists-staging.tk as a subdomain of gsuperlists.tk Your site shows up at:
I’ve reentered both of the domain (1 for the gsuperlists-staging.tk and 1 for gsuperlists.tk) and I verified that both have the @ at the A entry - is this page listing the subdomains of the main domain? I’m now waiting for the changes to propagate hopefully it will work how long does it usually take to propagate?
