We have a pre-packaged VMware application (a ZIP file containing 3 files: nvram, disk1.vmdk and vmprotector.vmx) containing SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 (32 bit) and an IBM webapp. The VM is currently hosted on a proprietary server under CentOS 5.x x86_64 and VMware Server 2.x.
Do you think is possible to transfer that application on a droplet? Something like “Copy from our server & paste on the DO droplet” ? :-)

What about running VMWare workstation inside a droplet using ubuntu, for instance? That would be really handy.
We do not currently support the import or export of disk images so you would not simply be able to upload your vmdk file and spin up a droplet.
You could transfer your files but as we do not currently support SuSE as one of our OS options this may not be completely straightforward.
Your best bet would be to spin up a droplet using one of our OS options, transfer your files from your VM and configure any services you need by installing them via the OS’ package manager.
