Can't send mail with VestaCP

Posted on May 21, 2017

Hi, I got a fresh install of VestaCP and I can’t send mails. I can receive mails however. I’ve had this issue for a while now and can’t figure it out. And their own forum seems pretty dead when it comes to support, so I’m trying here instead. (None of the IP’s below are mine.)

That looks like a DNS issue. What’s in /etc/resolv.conf?

Here’s a bit of info on the topic: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/questions/can-i-change-the-dns-in-etc-resolv-conf

That name server isn’t working for me.

If you log in, can you try this command: host cnn.com That should give you some IP results from your name server.

If that’s dead, edit your resolv.conf file to read:

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
search home

Then try that ‘host’ command again.

Not sure if that counts as “dead” or not :o
