Question

Cannot access my site "server DNS address could not be found."

Hello Sharks,

Domain Name: BUFFNOTBROKE.COM Registrar: NAMECHEAP INC. Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID: 1068 Whois Server: whois.namecheap.com Referral URL: http://www.namecheap.com Name Server: NS1.DIGITALOCEAN.COM Name Server: NS2.DIGITALOCEAN.COM Name Server: NS3.DIGITALOCEAN.COM Status: clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited Updated Date: 12-feb-2017 Creation Date: 11-feb-2017 Expiration Date: 11-feb-2018

My IP is 138.197.159.43. However, I followed some advice on the DO forums, regarding my situation, to change Wordpress General settings so that Wordpress is accessible through my website name instead of my IP. Now I cannot even access my Wordpress dashboard. I setup my ‘A’ records and my ‘CNAME’ records following the tutorial. I’m not sure what else I have to do. Do I have to wait more than 24 hours? Someone please help me.

I can see your website too – it appears to be working fine! On cached DNS records; if you make any changes to your DNS records it can take a lot of time (sometimes several days) for those changes to propagate around the internet. Realistically, most changes are visible in an hour or so – often less.

I think you need to wait a bit longer, yes. Some of the DNS records involved can be cached up to 2 days.

As far as i can tell, everything looks correct. Your DNS looks correct. I can load your website.

Sounds like a problem of what I’m having now too. I could access wordpress.org and wpbeginner.com myself last night and tonight I am unable to access both websites. wordpress.com is instead loads fine.

Deleted all cookies and caches and restarted my router didn’t seem to overcome the issue. I think my problem is exactly the same as jqsonlee where I could access the sites via mobile internet data but somehow doesn’t work on my router’s wifi.

I remember using the Google DNS server last night 8.8.8.8; 8.8.4.4; I even emptied using on default, didn’t work out too. Does this mean I have to access the site via mobile data forever? lol

Post is old dated back 2017, I was thinking if jqsonlee would have his updated solution to this by now.
