Does "Self Hosted Email Server" allow multiple domains

Posted on September 4, 2024

I’m looking at adding a self-hosted email server. The one in the marketplace, called “self hosted email server”, looks like it might work for me. Does it support multiple domains? Thanks.

Hi there,

I believe that you are referring to the ‘Self Hosted Email Server’ from the Marketplace here right:

https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/self-hosted-email-server

If you were to create a Droplet with that image and run the command form the Marketplace page you will be greeted with the following message:

# selfhostedemailserver

It is a product not managed by DigitalOcean and as far as I can see they don’t have much information on the support page but they do offer free 30 minutes consulting session:

Support URL:https://selfhostedemailserver.com/

If you are interested in trying this out, it might be best to reach out to them with any questions that you might have!

If you prefer you could use the Postfix image instead:

https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/postfix

Or alternatively, you could setup Postfix manually as described here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-configure-postfix-on-ubuntu-22-04

Hope that this helps!

We’re the people behind the “self-hosted email server” app.

It does support multiple domains now. Also email deliverability can be guaranteed via ability to configure outbound smtp relay.
