June 2, 2014 7k views
hi. i just signed up and created one centos server. as far as i know, i am supposed to receive an email which contains root password and other info. but i can't see it in my mailbox. i tried to reset root password so that i can receive relevant email but nothing happened. i can see a paypal - which i signed up in order to sign up digital ocean - welcome email so i don't think there is a problem in my mail server. can you guys tell me what is wrong? i am urgent but cant do anything..

  • This is also happening for my droplet. And I thought it was my issue until I had 2 different implementations send email from my system but same implementations failed on my droplet.

My entire app depends on email being sent out!

They're aware of it and trying to fix the issue. In the mean time you could relaunch the droplet with an ssh key. There's tutorials available that explain how to do that.
Create a ticket in the support area and they will take a look at your account.
it is working now! tnx all :)
Same problem here and it doesn't appear to be working
This issue should be resolved now. In the future, you can always check our status page of up to date info:

https://status.digitalocean.com/

We try to be as transparent as possible and keep people informed of issues in real time.

I also encountered the same issue today. I've just fired a ticket and waiting for resolve.

The same issue. The SSH Key process ask for a root password to complete. I din't receive even the first root password nor droplet create notification. Frustrating

Same issue. Googling will find you so many issues with the root password email not coming through. Was testing to see how digitalocean compares as a VPS provider...not a great start.

I too experienced this problem with initial creation of the droplet. However, resetting the droplet's root password triggered the email.

Until the issue is fixed, try this:

  1. create your droplet
  2. goto > Droplets > Access
  3. Reset Root Password

Check your email, you should have received the access password. At least I did.
