Email server stopped working. I restored from a good snapshot, and it's still not working.

I had an email server working, then it stopped, I restored to a known good snapshot, and it still doesn’t work. I’ve been troubleshooting for many months, and I’ve gotten nowhere. I don’t see how this isn’t an issue with digitalocean. What can I do to see why this is happening?

Currently, I decided to basically start over. I still have that known good snapshot that doesn’t work for some reason, but I’ve tried every single tutorial I can find. Nothing is working. Currently, I can send, but not receive external email. I don’t know where to go next. What can digitalocean do to help figure out what changed?

This is very weird, but it’s working now…

I regenerated the SSH key and rebooted, and now I have the messages in my inbox. An SSH key wouldn’t have anything to do with the mail setup, right? I don’t understand how it’s working now. I’ve been looking over this for a while.

I installed and setup Postfix according to the DigitalOcean tutorials. I’ve gone through over a dozen other tutorials to try and track down the cause, but nothing is working

The DNS settings are the same as they were when the emails were working. I believe that the SMTP traffic is hitting the server, but there’s something else wrong. It’s very confusing because my snapshot should work without any issues, but it doesn’t.

Could you please provide additional information about the mail server configuration/setup? Since only the incoming emails are not working, can you confirm if you’ve changed the DNS settings for your domain name?
