Question

FileZilla don't connect by SSH becouse of asking password

Posted September 23, 2014 7.1k views

Please, tell me, what should I do?
The SSH works OK: I can connect with PuTTY without asking password. The key works well.
But when I try to connect with FileZilla (I’ve followed all the steps from here:
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-filezilla-to-transfer-and-manage-files-securely-on-your-vps), it asks me for a password and so I couldn’t connect. If I left the password field empty FileZilla asks me for the password again.

Hi! Have you followed the steps under SFTP via SSH2 Key-based Authentication of the same FileZilla article?

This article will teach you how to use Filezilla to transfer and manage files securely on your VPS.
  • Sorry for the stupids, but I haven’t used pageant because I thought it is need only when I use passphrase. Now everything works. I don’t have passphrase but pageant is necessary.
