GateOne Install Issues

November 5, 2013 3.3k views
Hello, I am having issues installing GateOne on CentOS. I am following this tutorial which was made for Ubuntu/Debian; https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-ssh-into-your-vps-from-the-browser-with-gateone It was going well until the "Use GateOne's setup script to create a .deb package for GateOne:" step. From what I understand, on CentOS, will need to use a .rpm package instead of a .deb package. Having issues building the package. I am running; python setup.py bdist --formats=rpm and receive this; error: command 'rpmbuild' failed with exit status 1 Am I running the correct command? Let me know if you need more information. Any help would be amazing, thank you in advanced.

Obviously the article was written for Ubuntu/Debian so it will not work on CentOS as the installation steps will be different.

See http://liftoff.github.io/GateOne/About/index.html#installation
Dayum! That's a mighty fine link.

Kamal, why doesn't D.O. use sphinx for its documentation/tutorials, so that the DO community can assist with improving them/keeping them up-to-date?

You know who else uses sphinx... Salt Stack (and the Salt Stack community can help edit/improve the documentation on GitHub). Have you guys/gals ever taken a look @ Read the docs?
Pablo, we're not currently considering using a different software (other than our in-house one), unfortunately. However, if you have any feature requests, please to email them to me (kamal at DO). :]

Thanks!
