This error typically indicates that your application is unable to establish a connection with the MySQL server. There are several common causes and corresponding solutions for this issue:

  1. MySQL Server is Not Running:

    • First, ensure that the MySQL server is actually running. You can check this by using the following command:
sudo systemctl status mysql
-   If the server is not running, start it with:
sudo systemctl start mysql

If the MySQL server is still not running, provide the error-log so that we can further assist with the issue. You can provide the last 50 lines of the error log by running

tail -n 50 /var/log/mysql/error_log
