Question

How can I change the php.ini file with Vesta?

Posted March 1, 2014 60.3k views
Hey! I'm trying to upload a rather big database but I'm having some trouble with uploading it since there is an upload limit set in the php.ini file. I'm currently running Vesta, but I have no clue what so ever where I can change the max upload limit. Any ideas?

i also use Vestacp

upload max size can be changed from

/etc/php5/apache2/php.ini
php.ini file is just /etc/php.ini
btw if you have any problems using Vestacp i suggest you to look at there forum page
Thanks for your reply! I indeed read the vestacp forums too, but I couldn't figure out where to find that file. The problem was that I had no idea where and how to access the /etc/ folder.
I figured out how to edit the file and set the max upload size to 64M. Unfortunately, PHPmyadmin is still giving an error when trying to upload a file. After giving the error I can't login/out anymore and it says 'error: connection lost'.
the changes on php.ini file will not work with the PhpCGI template in Vesta CP, you must use the hosting template if you want to work with the changes you made like upload size en file size.

/etc/php/7.0/apache2/php.ini
