I added http2 on; to my Nginx config on my Droplet a while back and assumed it was working. I recently read that HTTP/2 requires ALPN negotiation during the TLS handshake and that just adding the directive does not guarantee it is actually being used by clients.
How do I verify from the outside whether my server is actually serving HTTP/2, and are there common misconfigurations that silently fall back to HTTP/1.1 without any error?
