How do I setup Cloudflare and DigitalOcean with my droplet?

Cloudflare gave me two nameservers to change. Do I need to change this in the droplet hostname - domain section and the domain name servers. Or just one?

At your Domain Vendor (GoDaddy, Hostgator, namecheap)
Change DNS to point to CloudFlare.

At CloudFlare
Create an A and AA records to point to your Droplet IP.

At Digital Ocean
Add a DOMAIN to your Dropplet (The same as you bought with your Domain Vendor).

I found this video tutorial on youtube very useful

Neither. You change the dns servers your domain uses at your registrar. If you're using cloudflare then you can completely ignore the dns section in the DO control panel.

i wish i understood this i am using go daddy to cloud flare then digital ocean and i cant get it working

  • You change the nameservers for your domain using your registrar’s control panel. If you’re using Cloudflare, you will have to use their DNS control panel to manage your records.

My domain is registered at godaddy and i tried to connect it to Cloudflare, i changed the dns in the godaddy domain control panel but didn’t change anything in my Droplet nameserver section, then all of sudden my site disappeared completely, it went down for 4 hours and i had to go back to the previous settings. is there a good tutorial on how to do this.
