How long does resizing take?

Posted September 4, 2014 8.7k views

I am currently over an hour in resizing. It seems to just be stuck. Any solution to this or how to fix this problem?

  • yeah, important things like this need to be ignored.

    I too have taken a few minutes out to resize. 20 minutes later im not concerned at all. Im just looking forward to October 2017 when someone else has the same issue thats not awnsered so I can lol at them.

  • Wow, 24 minutes later I now have 1gb ram. I cant wait for it to stop crashing now. At least I didnt have to weight two years. But im still waiting for October 2017. I think i’ll still be sat here in the same dressing gown. Just a hunch.

Re-sizing certainly shouldn’t take that long. Please open a support ticket so the team can investigate the issue.

“Re-sizing certainly shouldn’t take that long.”

That in no way answers the question. Can you please give some bounds or an estimate? For me just now converting from 1GB/1CPU to 2GB/2CPU it took about 10 minutes.

Resizing a 20G to 40G with an increase to SSD took about 7 minutes.

Mine, from the $5 plan to a $10 one, so far almost 1 hour passed and nothing changed.

Took less than 5 minutes for me, going from 4GB RAM/2 vCPUs to 8GB RAM/4 vCPUs.

5 minutes, 2G->4G / 1vCPU->2vCPU

With 12 GB of data, resizing from 2 CPU => 8 CPU, 4GB RAM => 16 GB RAM, took about 12 minutes.
