I haven’t used DigitalOcean yet but I am considering it.
Say, I am using one VPS server in DO.
- What is the recommended way of backuping a path(and its children) and then later restoring it?
- There seems to be image-level backup feature. If I have one image backup and I want to selective restore a path to my current VPS(not the whole thing since there could be a conflict), what is the recommended way in DO?

I would recommend using rsync to sync a particular folder with an offsite backup, either on another droplet or a server elsewhere. You could also run rsync on your local computer in order to back up this path locally. This tutorial should be of assistance.
