HOW TO Send-Only email configuration on Ubuntu 12.04.?

Hi to all,so here is my problem. I am using a Ubuntu droplet, and have installed a script that need the ability to send emails. There is also a contact form. The problem I’m facing is that I’m stacked because I have setted to receive and send emails through Microsoft “domains.live.com ” because of spam, so the only option that I need is the ability to send emails to, per example, new customers to confirm their email addresses, or to send emails from the contact form on the site to my email on domains.live.com . Did anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have installed successfully postfix, but now I don’t know what to do. Thank you in advance.

HI there, I’ve been facing the same issue and although it is Wordpress related, as long as wp itself also uses php mail() function I think I’m on the same boat!

The lack of documentation about setting up a proper and simple way to use Gmail or Hotmail or outlook.com (aka domains.live.com ) as a relay service is extremely disappointing. I’m new on managing a VPS, but it is worth nothing if I’ve got a blowing fast server set up serving a web site which is not able to process a simple sendmail request.

I’ve also tried postfix, sendmail and exim on Ubuntu 12.04 with no avail.

I’ve read a few tutorials about setting up Gmail and Hotmail with postfix, but even following these tutorials strictly I could not make it anyway. Perhaps it may help you if I’m missing something, here a the links:
