How to set up non Self-Signed SSL cert on Ubuntu 12.04?

I've read through the tutorial here https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-create-a-ssl-certificate-on-apache-for-ubuntu-12-04 but it talks about a self-signed certificate. I'm looking to purchase a signed SSL cert from a verified authority. Is the set-up process different and in what ways?

Just follow that tutorial, once you have successfully setup the self-signed ssl then you're good to go. Simply navigate to /etc/apache2/ssl/apache.crt and replace the apache.crt with the .crt file issued from the site you bought it from.
