What is the reason for this report?

I have a godaddy domain but my site is hosted on digitalocean. How do I forward emails using godaddys free email forwarding?

Posted on May 5, 2016

I setup a free forward with godaddy so webmaster@mydomain.com sends copies to my gmail account.

However when I send an email to webmaster@mydomain.com I don’t seem to be getting any emails, returned emails or errors.

On my digitalocean side of things I have currently setup

A record: @ : Ip address of droplet CNAME record = www : mydomain.com CNAME record = pop : pop.secureserver.net. CNAME record = imap : imap.secureserver.net. CNAME record = smtp : smtpout.secureserver.net. MX record = 0 : smtp.secureserver.net.

Nameserver records = ns1.digitalocean.com. , 2 3 etc

Can someone point me in the right direction? Cheers.

I don’t see any issue with the records you’ve shared. I would recommend reaching out to GoDaddy support in case they are preventing mail delivery if you use non-GoDaddy nameservers (if they do, please let us know here so others will have the info).

If that is the case, you can keep your DNS records on GoDaddy and simply create an A record for your droplet(s) that point to their IP address.
