I misconfigured my firewall

Posted on July 4, 2021

I misconfigured my firewall via /etc/rc.conf and currently cannot connect to my server. Including port 22, it is closed, I can’t edit in any way.

Hi @ytuploaderwordpress,

For such cases, I’ll recommend using the Recovery Console. The Recovery Console provides out-of-band access and is available regardless of your network settings. It emulates the access you would have if you were sitting down with a keyboard and monitor attached to the actual server. You can use this feature to log in and revert bad settings to regain normal access.

You can read more about how to connect using the said console here:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/droplets/resources/recovery-console/

Hope that helps!
